Support Service for Persons with Diversabilities

Provided by GreenTree Community Inclusion Programs Inc.

Provides supportive programs for individuals with diversabilities in the province of British Columbia.
The following programs are offered:
  • Emergency Care: Provides a safe, supportive short-term (approximately 30 days) placement for individuals who cannot live safely with their family or for whom no other care arrangement is readily available.
  • Respite Care: A family preservation service designed to meet the needs of families, foster parents or homeshare providers caring for individuals with complex needs. It provides caregivers with a temporary break from the emotional and physical demands of caregiving to maintain or improve overall family function and well-being.
  • Specialized Long-Term Care: Specialized Long-Term Care services are to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children, youth, or adults in-care that require higher levels of supervision and support. These homes provide a culturally safe, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate living environment for individuals requiring a 24-hour staffed model and specialized environment where other living arrangements have been deemed unable to provide the required level of support.

The programs offered are no cost to the individual with a referral from the youth/adult social worker.

After-hours emergency service is available 24/7. Services are offered across the province of BC. Currently, services are concentrated throughout the Okanagan, and Northern BC regions. Expansion of services includes the Kootenays and Vancouver Island.
