Food Hamper and Banks in the Chemainus Area

Provided by Chemainus Harvest House Society
Distributes food to those in need, serving residents from Saltair to Westholme and creating public awareness of the needs of the community.
Chemainus Harvest House Society has four distribution sites open throughout the week to serve residents from Saltair to Westholme. Individuals are encouraged to register in advance to help CHHS food bank distribution, but pre-registration is not required in order to receive food. Those in need are welcome to show up and access the food bank once a week at the Food Bank that works best for your schedule. Anyone is welcome in Harvest House Food Banks, and no one is alone - friends or neighbours are welcome to come pack a hamper on behalf of those in need.

- Chemainus Food Bank in the Chemainus United Church basement (9814 Willow Street), open for stop and shop on Tuesdays 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM, AND on Fridays 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
- Crofton Food Bank in the Warmland Church (1586 Joan Avenue), open for stop and shop on Mondays from 10:00 AM -11:30 AM Thetis Island Food Bank in Forbes Hall at noon on Thursdays is available for Thetis and remote Island residents only. Please contact the office at 250-246-0338 to register (required).
- Penelakut Island Food Bank in the Penelakut Health building on Tuesdays is available for Penelakut community members only. Please contact the office at 250-246-0338 to register (required). Time depends on ferry, but ranges between 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM. Contact Penelakut Health (250-246-9885) or the local Facebook page for ferry and food bank ETA on Tuesdays.
- Hamper Pickups can be booked using the Online Hamper Request Form, or by contacting the office
